Who processes your data

The controller for the data collected through this site is Sarah Lasaracina, as author and owner of the "Clueless Cooks" blog (ricetteperpippe.com). For any question about this notice or about your data, you can write to ricetteperpippe@gmail.com.

What data I collect and why

Newsletter sign-up. If you subscribe, I collect your name and email to send you updates about new recipes and content. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6.1.a of EU Regulation 2016/679, "GDPR"), given at sign-up. You can withdraw it at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email, or by writing to me.

Recipe comments. If you leave a comment, I collect the name you provide, the comment text, and — only if you choose to add it — your email. Name and comment are published after manual moderation; the email, if given, is never shown publicly and is only used to reply directly to your comment if needed. Here too the legal basis is your consent, given by ticking the checkbox when you submit.

"Like" and view counters. These are anonymous, aggregate numbers not linked to anything that identifies you. Whether you've liked a recipe, or ticked off a step as done, is remembered only on your own device (browser local storage): it is never sent to or stored on my servers.

Who your data is shared with

To run the site I rely on a few external providers, who process data on my behalf as processors (Art. 28 GDPR): Supabase Inc. (hosts the database behind comments and counters), n8n (handles sending and unsubscribing from the newsletter) and Netlify Inc. (hosts the site).

These providers may be based, or run servers, outside the European Union; in that case the transfer is governed by the safeguards required under the GDPR (e.g. standard contractual clauses). I never sell or share your data for advertising or third-party marketing purposes.

How long I keep your data

Newsletter sign-up data is kept until you unsubscribe or explicitly ask me to remove it. Comments (and any associated email) are kept for as long as the recipe stays published, unless you ask me to delete them. "Like" and view counters are aggregate and anonymous, with no expiry tied to a specific person.

Your rights

At any time you can ask me to: give you access to the data I hold about you, correct it if it's wrong or incomplete, delete it, restrict its processing, give it to you in a portable format, object to the processing, or withdraw a previously given consent (without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal).

To exercise any of these rights, write to ricetteperpippe@gmail.com. You also always have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali), or with the data protection authority of your own country of residence, if you believe this processing breaches applicable law.

Cookies and similar technologies

This site does not use any tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies. Fonts are hosted directly on this site: no request is made to external services to load them. The only use of local storage is to remember, in your own browser, which recipes you've liked or which steps of a recipe you've ticked off as done — it stays on your device and is never transmitted anywhere else.

Changes to this notice

This notice may be updated over time, for example if the services used by the site change. The "last updated" date at the top of the page always reflects the latest version.
